Topic 5 explains the significance of counselling as a science and the importance of taking a holistic view of the leader seeking advice. Problem-based learning is also an important component.
As part of problem-based learning, you will work with four different case studies (“Reader_Professional Counselling”). You will independently research what you need to know. Possible starting points for this research are the Problem-Based Learning libraries “Practical Approach” and “Scientific Approach” (see below). These offer you a broad spectrum of different counselling approaches, which you can first get an overview of in the presentation and then delve deeper into in the Readers. Consider for yourself which counselling strategy is suitable for the respective case (from the case studies) and can facilitate good counselling.
